I was trying to +10 NY!Panne. But after spending 200 orbs and and getting her just twice I gave up.
I hope your luck was better.
...How long have you been playing and how many resources do you have that you can +10 / +5 DF a unit the day of release...?
How long have you been playing
Since March of 2017, so quite a long time lol
how many resources do you have that you can +10 / +5 DF a unit the day of release...?
A lot, I like to save up orbs for my favorite characters so I can +10 and max them out.
Doing this on the day of release sounds impressive, but Panne is the demote on the banner, meaning she's summonable at 4 stars. Banner demotes typically only take around 250 - 500 orbs to +10. For me, it took roughly 300 orbs to +10 Panne.
As for the dragon flowers, I only use them on my favorites, so I usually have enough to give someone +5 straight away.
That makes sense, lol. I just started in December so I am totally resource-starved. Puts me a bit in awe when someone does this day-of, though.
You can get around 300 orbs per month so you could in theory be able to do the same. Still impressive though.
For a 4* focus unit like this Panne, it's about 420 orbs to have a 50% chance to get 11 copies, 500 orbs for a 75% chance.
We usually get 300+ orbs in a month, so if you save everything for two months, you can very likely get a +10 4* focus unit like this in two months. Actually, it's probably not a bad idea for a new account?
A lot of modes uses a scoring system, and merges are the most important part of that (make sure to upgrade them to 5* before merging though, using feathers). Getting 11 random copies of someone is hard, and while grail units are a fantastic option for guaranteed +10, it takes a few months of grails gathering to afford one. So getting a +10 very strong recent 4* focus unit like Panne here is probably the fastest way to get your score up in a ton of modes (thus more rewards) while getting a very strong unit to boot.
Note that 5* exclusive characters are A LOT more expensive. Like if you'd want a +10 Duo Askr instead, you are looking at 1750 orbs for a 50% chance and over 2000 for a 75% chance... You can get more than four +10 4* focus characters for less than the price of one +10 5* focus. Legendary and Mythic characters have even worse odds, so I'd say that a good 4* focus (like Panne here; some are really not too good) is the way to go. As long as it's a character you love, of course.
For Dragonflowers, they simply slowly come over time... they were added sometime in 2019 I believe. For reference, I have 7700 infantry dragonflowers on hand, and I do have one +25, four +15 and a bunch of units with less than 10. So like 12000 flowers of each type in three years? We do get more nowadays too.
So getting the 600 flowers to +5 something doesn't take very long but you have to be selective on who gets them (don't be as selective as me though; I'm at the other extreme where I should use more resources). Also note that for a lot of units, +3 is just as good as +5 while being far less expensive; a lot of units don't care about some stats. For example, that 16 defense mage doesn't get any use from a +1 defense from feathers.
My problem is I like too many units, so when I started I used a bunch of my feathers to upgrade the ones I liked to 5*, lol...
NICE WORK FELLOW PANNE ENJOYER
I just built mine ! Same kit but with Surge Sparrow and Luna. Have fun with her !
Congrats! The new Panne is definitively very tempting, but I'm afraid I don't have enough orbs on hand to reliably +10 her... I still made sure to grab a copy and she's shockingly good even with her incomplete base kit.
Does the regular Panne still works well in this day and age? I have a +9 unbuilt Panne. I was hoping she'd be in the Awakening Hall of Form or to get a great one in Binding World, but neither happended. I do tend to be far too stingy with fodder and sit on my resources too much, but I do have lots of b-tier stuff on-hand doing nothing (like atk/spd solo, lulls, 20k codes, etc) and a few top-tier things like atk/spd catch and traces that I haven't decided where to use quite yet...
Getting the 10th merge and outfitting her with at least the b-tier stuff seems like a good idea, but if possible I'd like some reassurances that she's still doing alright nowadays.
Sorry for the late response, been really busy on my end.
Does the regular Panne still works well in this day and age?
It'd say so. She got a refine not too long ago, and it's pretty damn good. It beefs up her statline with +12 in each stat under some conditions, +7 true damage to help with her low attack stat, and other solid stuff like Guard and guarenteed follow-ups help Panne greatly. You could argue that she's currently the best F2P beast now.
Perfect, thank you! I was pretty optimistic about it (My +9 with a simple Fury 3 was doing surprisingly well in random content like arena assault), but it's great to have first-hand confirmation about it.
I'll wait until the anniversary announcements later this month since they tend to like doing GHB fights, so maybe Panne would be there and save me a few grails, but in any case I'll definitively pull the trigger on finishing to build her.
Ohhh so that’s why Panne was picked, year of the rabbit….makes sense now.
So I'm a fan of Panne. She was the first beast unit I was ever introduced to in the series, and I just think she's really neat.
Of course, with the Year of the Rabbit upon us, Panne got her first alt in the game, and I am a happy lad. Her being the demote was just absolutely perfect, +10'd her as soon as I could. To celebrate this banger alt, here's a little showcase of both Pannes.
The Panne
Weapon: Taguel Fang
As a beast, she's pretty much stuck using this weapon, but that's not a bad thing thanks to the recent refine it got. A ton of stats, Guard, guarenteed follow-up and +7 damage per hit based on Panne's speed, etc. It's pretty great now.
Assist: Shove
She was my only beast unit for a long time, so I had to pair her up with allies that didn't allow her to transform up close. Shove gave her some flexibility in where she could be positioned.
Special: Galeforce
I made her a Galeforcer since she has good bulk and 3 movement. Hittting that attack check with Heavy Blade was tough before, but her refine helped greatly.
A Skill: Atk/Spd Solo 4
Been runnning a solo on her for years now, just because it fits with how she's meant to be played.
B Skill: Lull Atk/Spd 3
Helps her with the Heavy Blade check and makes her a bit more tanky so she can survive while Galeforcing.
C Skill: Spd Smoke 4
It's the only way Panne is gonna get access to damage reduction. Gives her better survivability after using her Galeforce since she might have to tank a hit or two.
Sacred Seal: Heavy Blade 3
It's the only way she can use Galeforce consistently.
New Years Panne
Weapon: Keen Rabbit Fang
Stacked weapon. Slaying, Atk/Spd +6, half of NFU, 40% damage reduction on foe's first hit, and Flashing Blade 3. That's not even counting the other normal beast weapon effects on top of that.
Assist: Reposition
Reposition is like a drug man, I can't get enough of it. It's so useful.
Special: Galeforce
Slaying + Flashing Blade in her weapon allows Galeforce to really shine.
A Skill: Atk/Spd Clash 4
She's gonna be moving great distances with Galeforce and her cavalry movement, making Clash a great A skill.
B Skill: Beast N Trace 3
I can finally use her more comfortably in diverse team comps AND she gets canto on top of that?? Yes PLEASE.
C Skill: Atk/Spd Menace
A super solid C Skill that gives a big stat swing for Panne. There are probably better options like Panic Smoke 4, but I don't have that kind of fodder.
Sacred Seal: Swift Sparrow 2
More attack and speed, not much else to it.
