Many buses run from central bus stand towards velankanni. If you can’t find any at your time, you can hop onto nagapattinam bound bus. Then at nagapattinam or one stop before, get down and you may get velankanni bound buses from Chennai or Pondicherry

Are there any buses from Trichy towards Velankanni? I could not find any on the online bus booking sites, do any buses run on this route during the day.

If yes, where will I able to board the bus, Trichy central bus stand? shows up on maps  
If not, then any reliable cab service to reach Velankanni, seeing not very positive reviews about Uber?

See a lot of cab booking services on online portals not sure how trustworthy are they.
