is this even possible?

This might sound like a dumb coincidence, or something small, but it's been haunting me for years and I'm still trying to make sense of it. About 4 years ago, I was a college sophomore. I lived 2.5 hours away from school, so every morning I had to take a bus to the nearest train station in order to get there. That particular morning everything was unfolding normally. We were approaching the railroad crossing and that meant I had to get ready to get off at the next stop. Since we were waiting for the train to pass by in order to cross, I decided to stand up and wait next to the bus doors. In a bizarre sequence of events, once the railroad crossing barrier was lifted, the bus driver spotted a driver that was trying to get out of a parking spot with no lights on, and had to swerve so he wouldn't hit him. The rough maneuver caused me to hit my head against a bus pole and I fell, landing on a wheelchair accesible spot. I blacked out for a few seconds and when I regained consciousness, the bus driver took me to the nearest hospital. Turns out I had split my ear in two and I had an open head wound on the same side. That's not the crazy part though, at this point this would only be an accident. When I come back home from the hospital, I email my professor to let him know I had skipped class due to a bus accident. I was worried about attendance, and I knew this guy was not the kindest and most understanding person out there. Still, he replied right away and assured me everything was fine. The following week, I attend his class. This professor was not particularly fond of 'socializing' with students, so he probably didn't know most of our names. While he was taking attendance, he mentions something about a girl who was not present that day due to a medical issue. He explains how she was involved in a bus accident and had some head injuries that were relatively minor yet granted skipping class. He mentioned how she had emailed him right away to let him know. I totally assumed he was talking about me, after all it was a very small class, probably less than 30 people. So I raise my hand and let him know that I was actually there, and I was fine. The girl sitting next to me gives me a strange look and she says 'he's talking about random girl's name' and he actually confirms it wasn't me who he was talking about. So apparently this girl in my class had the same type of accident one or two days after mine, same head injuries and all. My first instinct was to assume she had heard about my situation and wanted to skip class so she just told him the same story, but that would be ridiculous. It freaks me out because although it wasn't the same bus line, the circumstances were identical: she hits her head against a pole, has a head and ear injury, has to skip the same class. Mind you, bus accidents are not common in my city.

Thoughts?
