What's wrong with Colorado Springs?

Navy here still waiting for space results to come out. Hear a ton of issues about Colorado Springs and I don't know after being in Norfolk or San diego for awhile......I'm just curious

San diego our 1 bedroom apartment was 2400 ( no it was not nice ) also completely normal to go to your car in the morning and see someone coming off of drugs in the morning. Or going to the gym in the morning and just random human feces on the sidewalk. Or going to get parking somewhere and it's 30-50 dollars.

Family lives in Denver visited Colorado Springs twice , even the housing market doesn't look bad. So just any insight or opinions, shoot.
