To be fair, people in the working class like us never stopped being slaves. The only difference is that we try really hard to convince ourselves that we're not.

If you think you're not a slave, then quit. See how free you are.

Glad to see more radical stuff like this here again.

You have to “work to survive” in any system, or if living on your own off the grid

But you are only working for yourself if you live off the grid but the working class especially in 3rd world countries work long hours to live in tiny confined spaces, survive on cheap carbs just so the elite can hide behind a desk and pretend to work some middle management 'job'

Go help them then? There's groups that go to 3rd world counties to help build infrastructure, etc... yet you complain on your 800 dollar device 🤔

The criticism is that people are required to work for others, not that they just have to exert effort.

Or open companies with co-workers & friends to compete with the bad evil men.. otherwise, keep posting online worthless comments that change nothing. You're supposed to be educated and sophisticated?

This isn't new. I'm pretty sure cavemen who didn't want to work didn't get to eat either.

In order to consume, you have to produce. Sorry.

Slavery isn't justified by the fact that people need to work to live.

Who is your owner? I'd be happy to buy you and set you free.

Slavery doesn't require owners who will sell slaves. If your only notion of slavery is informed by the antebellum south, you're going to be confused when people talk about other kinds of slavery.

To the extent you are enthused by that time and place, you should really read what Frederick Douglass, an escaped chattel slave, had to say about wage slavery.

You always have the opportunity to start your own business, you know.

I started a cleaning biz with a Swiffer duster and a mop.
