Halifax Rewards Account Fee Waiving

Hi,

Yesterday I activated the rewards scheme on my Halifax Rewards Account that I've had for a few months. Previously, since it was deactivated I wasn't paying any fees. I almost immediately paid in the £1500 required to waive the fee and paid £500 to my Revolut account which from my understanding counts as spending.

I also opened a 2nd account and did the same since T&Cs state that you are allowed to have 3.

Oddly in the evening I got charged a £3 rewards account fee in the first account but not the second.

I called Halifax today and the rep told me that I would be charged the fee at the beginning of each month and refunded it at the end if I qualified for waiving.

(Though he had to pull up the T&Cs from the get-go so not sure if he had the most accurate advice)

Please can someone explain to me if this is in fact how fee waiving works and why one of my accounts has been charged a fee and not the other?
