Holy Spirit told him to message his ex

While reflecting on the year that just passed, a year I dedicated to giving miracles, I remembered one of my favorite stories I’d like to share with you. Not only because its ending seems taken straight out of a movie but because it taught me that communication is not of the body.

It happened while I was at an ACIM conference. There, I had the opportunity to talk to many and also help some. This story is about a woman who wanted my help with overcoming her sense of being lost and not feeling she was good enough. I asked Heide to explain her current situation. She told me that she had separated from her boyfriend more than a year ago. He was now living in another country and had no contact with her. They decided to part ways because, according to her, nothing she did was ever good enough for him. Heide intellectually understood that it was probably not true, yet she could not help but feel that way.

After a few minutes of talking, she remembered something that made her understand her decision to feel belittled. As a young girl, her dad used to make her feel the same, especially on one occasion, especially on one occasion in which she had done things right. Heide was 5 years old when she suddenly found herself lost without her parents at a supermarket. Afraid, she waited a while to see if they would find her but eventually decided that she knew the way home and returned by herself. She proudly waited a bit longer at the door until her dad found her. Dad was not happy. He decided the appropriate response was to punish her physically.

I helped her forgive her dad as she realized she carried this shadow figure of him all these years, a caricature of an evil dad who tainted her self-image forever. She was trying to get over him by being the best at everything and always being right. It was now clear that she was projecting this shadow over her ex-boyfriend! Forgiveness was now easy and complete. I taught her this prayer, which she found very reassuring:

"Holy Spirit, I know I did my part already. Now I put my future in your hands so you can do yours. I trust that if I do not interfere, you will undo all the consequences of my wrong belief that I am not good enough. Everything you bring to my life will be a form of peace".

A few days later, after the conference ended, she arranged my transport back to the city. One of her friends would drive us both to the train station. At the car, she told me about a most incredible healing, a miracle in the classic sense of the word.

His ex-boyfriend texted Heide: “I don’t know why, but I’m feeling this inexplicable urge to write you… how are things going?” Then they talked for a while, and he said it was time for them to see each other again. He was now boarding a flight and would wait for her at the train station where she would arrive from the conference!

How wonderful the Holy Spirit can use any situation to teach us that communication is not limited in any way by the body.
