Southwest gave me a credit limit of $2,000, making it virtually impossible to get the companion pass

A-List & Comp Pass

My husband has had southwest credit cards for most of our marriage of 6 years, and 2 years ago we took advantage of the companion pass offer and used the companion pass for the last year or so. We decided it would be advantageous to continue with southwest because of the companion pass, and signed me up for a credit card with an introductory offer. The problem is that they gave me a $2k credit limit. Here's some numbers with that.

The intro offer was to spend $3k in 3 months for 75,000 points. I can do that in 2 months.

At that point I would have 78,000 points. I then would only be able to spend $2k a month.

If I do that for the rest of the year (10 months) I would have 98,000 points, 37,000 points less than the required 135,000 to get the companion pass.

Then at the new year the points reset, and I'd start all over again.

This credit limit makes it impossible to get the companion pass. We just spent an hour talking to Chase to try and get it increased, but was declined because I just recently started building credit, and they don't have enough credit lines and too young of accounts to allow for a credit limit increase for them.

Do I have any options here? It just seems a little ridiculous. Can my husband and his credit cosign for me so they can have those accounts to compare to, so they can approve the increase? Can I just pay off the card faster so I can spend faster?
