HUD Rent increase

This community is to gather information from senior citizens living in senior housing on the topic of HUD and your rent.

Have you seen that your rent goes up the same amount of your COLA increase?

If so, please let us know.

We have mailed a letter to every member of congress. That is the House and Senate regarding this issue.

HUD mandates (requires) all property managers of senior/disabled/low income housing to use a federally mandated formula to calculate rent increases.

This formula increases our rents by the same amount or higher than our COLA increase, thus preventing us from enjoying an increase in income.
