How to get faster queue times?

Hi! Queue times for ranked are currently outrageous, like 15-60 minutes, so I want to increase my hero pool and learn to play other roles at a similar MMR. But unranked queue times are easily 10+min (I dequeued to queue for ranked after 10min). What the heck? I'm around 5.5k MMR and queueing in region:auto (which should be US). What can I do to improve my queue times for unranked??
