Looking for some Gorgon advice

Hello fellow Tyranids!

I'm just starting, just got the combat patrol and once it is assembled and painted my buddies and I are going to have some small scale battles. In our group other than me, we'll have Guard, Orks and Necrons.

I intend on going Hive Fleet gorgon based, because I love everything I've read about them in the codex.

2 of my friends have played in the past, the guards and orks. I'm curious what vital info the jive mind might be able to impart upon my fledgling gorgons.

I'm not expecting anything to make me the best player out there, just maybe some advice I can't easily get from the core book/codex having never played a match.
