Is sex painful after laparoscopy?

I had a laparoscopy for endometrema excision on December 9th, 2022. I will be meeting my long distance boyfriend next Friday and this will be my first time having sex post surgery and also a total gap of 6 months. I never faced any issue during penetration my whole life since I lubricated extremely well naturally. But post surgery I have been put on 2 month medication of dienogest progestin tablet to help control any future endometrema formation.

What should I be expecting during sex since I am not a huge fan of lube? Is it okay to try naturally?
