New Announcement: Masa Soul Name #MSN Pricing 📣

Pricing structure for soul names has arrived. Review the chart attached to this post to see the pricing breakdown by rarity for soul names.

The Masa Team put a tremendous amount of thought into pricing, and here are the primary elements we considered:

• Preserving rarity & value
• Accessibility & community
• Lessons from other domain services
• Vitalik’s thoughts on ENS improvements for value preservation

Let’s dive in…

====================================

Preserving rarity & value: 🥇

The fewer the characters, the rarer the soul names. There are a very limited number of soul names available with 1 character, and thus the highest price.

This structure helps create ascending rarity, and helps ensure value preservation in the secondary market.

Pricing is set for one-year of registration, to prevent domain-name squatting, but you can register soul names for multiple years at a time.

====================================

Accessibility & community: 🚪

It was critical to us that #MSN: Masa Soul Names are accessible to everyone, which is why 5 character and up .soul names are only $10 to register for a year.

There are plenty of rare soul names which can be claimed for just $10! There are also a ton of amazingly rare .soul names which can be claimed for only $50.

====================================

Learning lessons: 💡

We’ve seen other domain services not create an ascending pricing structure, which prevents value preservation.

We’ve also seen services make the rarest names completely unaffordable. Our goal was to find the sweet spot and learn from others.

====================================

On Efficiency: 💫

Our goal is to create the most efficient market for Masa Soul names. Pricing chart is per annual registration to prevent domain squatting.

Prices are in USD for simplicity-sake, but soul names will be available for purchase with ETH & USDC at the time of mint.

====================================

On #MSN Utility: 🔑

Your soul name will be your personal branding in the world of web3.

As projects launch on the Masa Soulbound Protocol, your soul name will be fully interoperable across various dapps and games - building reputation, value, and notoriety.
