Ano nga ba ang isang lalaki?
Siguro ang isa sa mga pinakamahirap na struggle bilang isang lalaki ay ang constant questioning ng kanyang purpose sa sarili at sa kanyang lipunan. Sabi nila, madali raw maging isang lalaki because of its "privileges" while some say otherwise that these "privileges" come with responsibility and therefore the "privileges" aren't inate but a byproduct of the responsibilities ng isang lalaki. Moreover, where we fight for equality, revealing that macho, misogynistic, and patriarchal view of the traditional male narrative are harmful in general towards everyone, a lot of men who have properly introspected may or may not be left with the feeling likened to that of a "hollow shell". Mahirap tanggapin ang pakiramdam na ang pagkakakilanlan mo sa sarili mo ay isang "pagkakamali" dahil "harmful" ito in general. This role and identity confusion of cishet men where they're constantly being pulled to different values and identity just to "feel right" is the reason why we have harmful narratives from the "manosphere". There is this walking contradiction between the "manosphere" that men are dominant and have the right to exercise power while also pulling out the points that men are oppressed and that the opposite gender have it better. All in all, with this word salad na pinut-up ko, ito lang talaga point ko, mahirap maging lalaki because we don't really have a clear expectation of what it is to be a man now in this ever changing world, where our traditional patriarchal views of being a man hurt men itself while those that have conformed or are left with the remnants of traditional patriarchal views may feel challenged or feel struggle in accepting the identity that they may feel like society is shoving an "effeminate" and "emasculated" version of man against their known traditional patriarchal view of being a man
