Anyone willing to share their experience having an Amniocentesis?

Hello everyone, i am currently pregnant with baby #2 and it has been confirmed that baby has a unilateral cleft lip. Prenatal diagnostics wants me to undergo an amnio to rule out any genetic issues. However, i'm not sure how i feel about the procedure as there is a chance of miscarriage and or preterm birth if i choose this route. If you had an amnio done, what was your experience?
