Passed Civil FE Exam

Just found out today that I passed the Civil FE exam on my first attempt. I am entering my final semester of school. Feel free to ask any questions, I would be happy to share suggestions!

I used Mark Mattson’s civil FE prep videos and problems, which were free online. They’re a great resource and he’s a funny/engaging instructor. On top of that, I got one of the 2020 NCEES practice exams and found some previous exam problems online that I studied thoroughly. Those were definitely the closest to the actual exam.

My best suggestion is to give yourself plenty of time to prepare, I think I took about 2 months or so. Other than that, definitely get familiar with the reference handbook and be aware of which topics your less strong at - I skipped those and came back later after going through what I did know.
