Will the swelling from a central labret interfere with my snakebites?

I'm considering getting a central labret soon but I have 1 y.o snakebites and I'm afraid the swelling from the new piercing will interfere with my already downsized piercings. Should I put the long bars back in before getting it done or is that unnecessary?
