Tipping Advice...
I'm hoping someone can validate my thinking or change my mind on this.
I generally will just tip $5 for every doordash order, regardless of the price of my order.
I hear people say, tip 15% or tip 20%...but tipping by % doesn't make sense to me in this scenario. The effort for the driver to deliver $20 of food vs. $50 of food is about the same in my opinion. In most cases it's just one bag of food being delivered, regardless of price.
For example if I order $20 of food and tip 20%, that's a $4 tip. If I order $50 of food - and let's assume that can be carried in the same one bag - why should I still the 20%, $10, which is an additional $6 tip for no additional effort.
Tipping based on distance makes more sense to me. On average my orders are from restaurants within 5 miles of me. But to keep things simple (clearly I'm lazy), I just do $5 for each order.
Am I being a cheapskate??
