Need advice on finding NOT certified/pure breed dogs (complicated question please read more)

TLDR: how do I find dogs in shelters that look similiar to a specific breed of a dog but arent exactly purebreeds?

right, long story short- i hate small dogs, and I dont want a big bulky dog like a german shepherd If I in theory cant knock a dog off me if he jumped onto me and tried biting me, I dont want it. so sighthounds/greyhounds are ideal for me, i thought, great! borzois are quite adorable the problem is, those dogs (if with a purebred certification and stuff) cost a months average salary here, and its seen as ridiculous to buy a dog here

so now im wondering how to search for a NOT purebred dog, like the dog having mixed genes but still keeping its characteristics such as the snout, (its fucking adorable) Is my best bet looking at shelter pages?

Yes before you flame me I have done research about taking care of them, I took care of sighthounds for some time, and no, I can't adopt any normal dog from a shelter due to my fear I mentioned earlier.
