So I got my CA Relief Stimulus Debit Card Yesterday but I can't activate it as it says my SSN doesn't match what they have on file
Whenever I try to activate my card I can't get past the part where I enter my SSN because it tells me the last 6 digits of your SSN do not match our records so I can't activate my card (I was looking at my SSN whenever I tried to enter it) I could really use this money and googling my problem has gotten me nowhere.
Update 2: So it turned out that back when I did my 2020 tax return I accidentally put the wrong SSN (made a typo) and had to write the IRS and completely forgot that any of that happened so once I saw my tax returns and entered in the incorrect SSN everything worked. It was error on my part the whole time.
UPDATE: I called the Money network Customer Service # (1.800.542.9332), and got to speak to a person after a half hour of waiting. Told them my situation and they transferred me to the FTB, where an automated voice then told me "Due to the high frequency of calls we cannot assist you at this time Please call again later" and hung up. I called the FTB # (800 852 5711) the money network person gave me and she told me to press 1 when prompted but option 1 is for Personal Income tax, NOT the State Middle Class Refund, The state refund is option 4. However When you select option 4 it takes you to the same automated call you get when you call Money Network.
So after spending more time trying to figure out how to get to the person I need to talk to I just went with option 4, and after more waiting I eventually got to talk to someone. I explained my situation and gave them my info and answered several multiple choice questions and they said I will get transferred so I can set my Pin and verify my Card info. However I got transferred to THE WRONG PERSON who had a thick accent on top of sounding muffled. She said that she would transfer me to #1.800.240.0223, which is just the # on my card. After 5 min of waiting I just hung up. I called the # directly and it AGAIN told me that the last 6 digits of my SSN did not match what they have on record and I just gave up. I have shit to do today so i'm just gonna call FTB again later.
