Core/fitness? How long did it take you to get back to semi healthy posture/strength?
Hi there, looking for advice from moms who wanted to get back to their old fitness levels after their baby. I’m a first time mom who was decently fit pre pregnancy. I pole danced and worked two very different physical jobs. I never had abs or anything but I was strong.
I had a teeny bit of diastasis recti after birth that was under an inch in width. They did not recommend physical therapy. Though I have some rib flaring that seems to go away in the morning which leads be to believe it’s flared due to the weakness in my core. In the morning I look ALMOST like I did before pregnancy and then night roles around and I’m like WAT?! I look like 10lbs heavier suddenly haha. I want to work on all of it and try to get back into pre pregnancy strength and posture (ugh my posture has been terrible !) I’m back to my prepregnancy weight (maybe like 2 lbs more) and I’m more interested in strength building and reducing my rib cage size and flare.
Can anyone recommend some routines they found helpful or weighted exercise that seemed to benefit? Of course I’m looking for something short that I can do every day while taking care of a baby. I’m also interested in baby assisted work outs (he’s about 6 months and can hold his head up n such)
How long did it take you to get back to prepregnancy fitness? How many days a week did you work out?
Lastly would anyone have any information regarding working out at night vs morning for core/abdominals? I know your muscles relax through out the day and I notice a wider rib cage in the evening. Should I be working out in the morning or at night?
Thanks for reading if you got this far! Thank for any advice!
