Threw it all away because your big monkey brain convinced you that you were special and you and yours deserved to carry on the species after having wiped out most of it. Now after hundreds of years of planning and piles and piles of wealth - the planet reminds us we mean nothing to the cosmos. All those plans and money and resources and time and thoughts and efforts and emotions and failures and achievements... don't mean a thing.
