Empathy

My boss told me that they do not believe or practice empathy ever. As they are a leader of potentially thousands of people, this concerns me greatly. I feel like I'm alone in my thinking but showing empathy towards employees is an invaluable commodity that garners more loyalty than the highest of wages. I can't help but think that my ideals have no place in today's society.
