Biden calls McConnell “a man of his word” who is “willing to find common ground to get things done.” POTUS also congratulates McConnell on becoming the longest-serving party leader in Senate history.

They are together at an event celebrating the infrastructure bill allowing the bridge from Kentucky to Ohio to be rebuilt. Sherrod Brown (D, Ohio) is also there. The WH invited Rand Paul and JD Vance, too, but they sent their regrets.

Even as I recognize the smart strategic intent behind it, hearing Biden praise McConnell still makes my skin crawl.
