Always test your pickups thoroughly before installation

I just spent a week wiring/rewiring and doing diagnostics trying to figure out why one of my new pickups wasn't working. I never thought to check if the thing was magnetic (seriously?). These are awful expensive pickups to be forgetting a crucial step during manufacturing.

Here's a friendly reminder to take a minute to touch some steel to new pickups and check that their resistance is stable before installing. Now I have to rip everything apart for a third time, return it, wait for processing and shipping, and then wire it all up again. This will set my project back weeks.
