people not getting notified when i post?

i’ve had a few different people tell me that they didn’t get an email about my fic updating, despite being subscribed to it and getting emails about other fics they’re subbed to. does anyone know what to do if this happens? is it a glitch or can you toggle sending out emails about updates on and off somehow? this has happened with two chapters and it’s kind of frustrating me lol
