Gender and character appeal

So, we currently have a relatively active thread discussing the SEA poll (and other polls in the past)

One thing I noticed a couple of times in the thread was a fair number of people commenting on how so and so character is waif bait and thus explaining their personality.

So it got me thinking, which characters change both in terms and or in your eyes if we switch their gender but keep everything the same

A couple of examples YUSUKE - if Yusuke switched genders I don't think how people view hthe character change by the end. Indeed, I think Yusuke's art obsession would actually increase their appeal One thing that would change though is how they are INITIALLY viewed - the whole draw Ann nude and semi stalking which initially many found problematic I dont think would be viewed st all in the same manner

FUTABA - I think this is definitely a character whose appeal drops massively. I, u fortu stele don't think many of us should be as sympathetic to a male shut in even if everything remained the same. Furthermore, their lack of respect to privacy and boundaries wouldn't be as forgiven as easily as it currently is.

There are other characters, some of which don't change at all - does Yoshida being female change anything with regard to the Sun arcana confidant link? Some that I think just don't work - making Ann male just completely alters her story with Shiho and Kamoshida
