permit parking

Hi Somerville!

I have a question. I'm fairly new to the area. My current place has a driveway but my new place I'll be moving into is one street over with no driveway. Thus, I need a parking permit. How do the permits work? Can I use my current address to apply for a permit since I am technically in Somerville or are the permits street based and it's best that I apply with my new address even though it's on the next street over. Please advise.
