Copy/Paste Multiple Messages

I can long press a message and there is an option (at the top) to copy it. Then I can go to another conversation and paste it there. I can also long press a message and then tap multiple additional messages but the "copy" icon goes away when more than 1 message is selected. Am I missing something to copy/paste multiple messages or has google not implemented that yet? :(
