UPDATE: Am I a bad dad for buying food instead of cooking?

So just wanted to say thank you to everyone who responded and 1. gave words of encouragement and 2. took the time to give very helpful suggestions!
I was able to get some incredibly useful help from the responses and they also gave me the idea to get myself some cookbooks and just start prepping meals one at a time. I think the biggest issue with the meal kit services was the lack of variety and overall “sameness” of the meals. I got myself a couple of decent books and plan on picking out recipes one at a time so at least I can cook for my son occasionally. Added to which I got myself some kitchen science books which should help me learn to cook without a recipe!
So thank you all so much again! I’m glad I posted.
