Phone taken in Seminyak

I had to catch an early morning flight from Bali but when I was at the airport, I realised that I had left my mobile phone in my bed in my hotel room in Seminyak. I contacted the hotel manager who was very kind and assured me that they had searched the room extensively but my phone was not there. I’m 100% certain that my phone was in the bed so I’m pretty sure that it was stolen by one of the hotel staff since my phone was switched off when I tried calling it (and it was fully charged). Is there anything I can do? I understand that police reports have to be made in person by the victim and so I can’t get anyone to file on my behalf since I had to catch my flight and am no longer in Bali.
