The struggle continues

Revision

Heading to my second MRA on my right hip. Surgery was 13 months ago and I’m struggling with return to sport and active lifestyle.

It is suspected I have adhesions in my joint that are restricting my external rotation and causing me pain after pushing my hip to end ranges in sport and life. Pre surgery my external rotation was 37 degrees, six weeks after it was 50 degrees and today it is 29 degrees.

Ive been waiting for this MRA since august but the Canadian healthcare system is fucked (to put it lightly) and I’m nowhere near getting it publicly so im paying $2100 out of pocket to get some clarity. My parents actually are helping me as they are tired of seeing me cry from the pain.

I’m also waiting for cortisone shot which im not hopeful will do much as im not sure how that will help rid me of the adhesions. It may help with inflammation and pain though.

I feel like ultimately I may need a revision to remove the adhesions. I know that my surgeon won’t do anything without an MRA to confirm what’s going on in my joint so hopefully this speeds up the process. I would like to have some sort of resolution with this right hip as I have the exact same diagnosis for my left hip and surgery is probably in my future for that side as well.

Not looking for any advice just documenting my journey for anyone else going through the same thing.

Anyone going through a hard time, feeling alone, feeling scared and sad I’m right there with you.
