Went through downtime and now she’s masking….
Me NT and my wife ND went through some challenging times during the December times. Even though we agreed to keep things small during Sinterklaas (dec. 5), Christmas, birthdays and new year, these still are times with high social expectations and things being different in shops, work, tv, schools,…everywhere.
It puts a big pressure on our family. I’m trying to manage and buffer and keep awareness on things like planning and changes from the routines.
Still the relation has been under high stress and we had a crash this week. Talking things through and me being open about how hard I worked mentally and how I missed the special relation times that the warm Christmas days bring to others. I think she understood and felt my feelings.
Now things between us go smoother but I feel she is masking to me, and I don’t know how to feel about it.
One side of me is honored she is taking an effort to try to make me happier, although she doesn’t express it. On the other side I’m concerned she masks herself to me. She shouldn’t not-be herself with me.
Should I let this be and enjoy the attention I’m usually missing, or should I feel guilty and talk to her about it?
