I’m getting an MRI but have a dermal, help!

Hi all, not sure if this is the right place for this question but I love Reddit advice so here it goes. I have a dermal piercing on my hip and have to get an MRI. I got it over a decade ago and have no idea what the metal is and the piercer is no longer working at the shop. I doubt I’ll be able to find out what metal it is so am planning on removing it. I remember them saying a piercer will massage it out to remove it, but since they no longer work there I’ll have to start calling random places. Before I embark on that process, any advice from this community about methods for having it removed? Or even better, if there’s a reliable way to ID the metal?
