[CHAT] Which fabric for stockings?

Like the title says, Im planning on making some stockings for next year's Christmas and I was wondering what type of fabric I should choose for something like that. I want it to last for years and be like an heirloom piece basically. I was thinking of using linen but I haven't done anything on linen yet, should I stick to aida? Im sure I can work with up to 18ct just fine, but I reallt like how linen fabric looks like as well. I read that stitching on linen was a bit different, that's why Im curious about your opinions. Thank you!
