Reasonable to hike to Las Animas and see waterfall in the same day?
Hola, I will be in PV soon and I’m trying to plan a day out to the areas south of Boca de Tomatlan. My top priority is hiking the whole trail between Boca and Las Animas to see the beaches, while my partner wants to see a waterfall or two. We are young and have been avid hikers in the past but are currently a little out of practice. We’re also not the type to hang out on the beach for hours, our only extended stop will probably be lunch in Las Animas.
Is it reasonable to expect us to have time to do this hike, then take the water taxi further south to Quimixto or Yelepa and hike to one of the waterfalls? If so, which would be the less strenuous option? It looks like hiking south from Las Animas isn’t very doable. We are planning on getting an early start (by 8am) but it sounds like the last water taxi from Yelepa is around 5pm so we don’t want to get stuck. Unfortunately we won’t have time to spread this out into multiple days.
