Can someone help a new user understand PS5 versions upgrade when my Plus Extra expires soon?

Question

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I've bought my PS5. I wanted to download the free PS5 upgrade version of Metro Exodus. I own the PS4 disc version.

When I put the disc in PS5 I've got an option of choosing the PS5 version of it, but it's the PS+ Extra version that expires for me next month. Will I still be able to play it without re-downloading it after my Extra subscription expires (I'll only be buying Essential) if I insert the disc or will I have to download it again, bit somehow as a non-Plus version?

I also have Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut retail version on PS4, it is also part of the PS+ Extra subscription that will expire for me next month. I want to buy the PS5 upgrade and download it that way so I can play it and not have to download it after my Plus expires.

As with my Metro Exodus, is it possible, or is Sony for some reason blocking me from doing that and I'm bound to such Plus subscription versions until the subscription expires, as in there's no point in wasting time downloading them right now if I want to play them after?

It's honestly extremely confusing.

Thanks in advance for any help :).
