Tattoos and OCD...

Hi, everyone. I have clinically-diagnosed OCD. I'm a cleaner, primarily. Like many here, I have a question about getting a tattoo. Since I wash my hands... a lot... I'm wondering about the period of time after you get one done. If I get one on my hand, will I have to refrain from washing the area that is healing? I honestly don't know much about it at all, so I'm hoping I can get some answers here. I wash my hands at least twenty times a day, so I'm wondering if I'd have to cover it or something? Is it safe to wash my hands if I just had a tattoo out on a finger? Will it ruin the tattoo? Slow the healing process?

EDIT: I should have already mentioned this, but I'm getting a wedding "band" tattoo. Little thing, but I'm still a noob and don't know about care.
