Please help I’m awful with computers (no not a boomer)

I recently got a steam deck and it’s absolutely fantastic, it’s my first “gaming pc” so to speak so I’m not great with all the pc jargon and stuff. But recently I’ve tried to get emulators to work on it and I’m struggling like hell every video i watch on it is so confusing to me and I just need someone to make a retards guide to emulation for me, I don’t have an external ssd or any other form of computer and I heard that makes things easier so am I screwed? Or is there hope for me yet?
