Has anyone added yeast to their ginger bug before?

I started a new ginger bug on 26/12/22, feeding it nearly everyday (missed 2 days) and it still isn't very active.

I keep the skin on the ginger, use the right measurements and I'm using good quality ginger. I had one day where there was some bubbles but other than that, it's been pretty dead.

I'm thinking of adding a little bit of yeast to give my ginger bug a bit of a push. Thoughts?
