How to stop gambling online?

22 M and i've been gambling ever since i was ~15 I grew up in a place where gambling is normal especially during certain occasions such as Chinese New Year. This will be the time where we gamble and we all bet really low amounts just to enjoy the company and it's n activity i take part in every year until the occasion ends.

I don't find a problem in this happens every year for like 2 weeks, and the amount of money I win/ lose is minimal.

However, online gambling is a problem for me. I lose almost half of my salary on it. I always tend to get lucky in the beginning but in the end I just lose it all.

For example, I deposit 100$, I win 500$+, I keep playing until I lose it all. I feel dissatisfied and proceeds to chase back my losses and my winnings. I then deposit another 500$, win big, then lose it all again within the same hour. Rinse and repeat until my bank is zero.

There were few times I tried to withdraw some of the winnings when I win big but either the same day or the following day I will deposit back the amount until my bank account reaches almost empty which signals to me that it's time to stop as I have nothing left to bet with.

I came up with the conclusion years ago that no matter how lucky or good I am. No matter how big or small I win. I know I cannot win a single cent at the end of the day because I will never be able to stop once I win, and once I lose i just deposit more until my bank is dry. But here I am in 2023, not being able to stop my addiction even I know i'll never profit off gambling due to my inability to stop.

I feel the main reason for this post is I want to learn how and when to stop when I win big , but at the same time I want to stop being addicted to gambling.
