“Selective” home folder sync

I regularly switch between two macs. Want to sync some files and folders from my home did on both so that I can use the macs interchangeably and get the same experience. Best solution so far is to have one or more git repos and symlink files in my home folder to files in the repo.

I wish resilio ignores file worked like firewall rules - couple “accept” rules and then one catch all “drop” rule. I thought selective sync would work like this but it doesn’t.

Any suggestions how to have this sort of selectively “roaming” home dir?
