What makes a plot "thick"?

Basically the title. I saw discussions rise after the release of Avatar 2, which I saw, it entertained me but I didn't like it so much. I understand that the plot was fairly simple (humans bad, nature good, run away, big battle, conclusion) but I don't understand what would have made it thick and, in general, what characteristics make a plot thick.
