Why do my parents get mad AT ME when I am upset/crying near them, even if it has nothing to do with them….

I got my first period after getting my iud removed which is a whole nother traumatic issue I can never get one again bc doctors don’t freaking sedate you for the traumatic procedure I would literally rather get accidentally preg cause then at least doctors care about the baby enough to care about your pain somewhat. But anyways yeah I’ve been in excruciating pain and couldn’t find my period underwear (can’t wear anything else without extreme discomfort) and I could only afford one pair so I bled through my nice sweats down my leg onto my new satin sheets I saved up for and have just been having a horrible meltdown crying all day and my mom was just screaming at me how I need to grow up and I’m “just crying about underwear” and all this shit that made it 100x worse. Why is their instinct when their child or anyone is upset or crying is to yell at them I don’t get I
