[Seiko 5 life span?]

I had one from Malaysia in 2014 for $80 on Amazon. It's off tempo by two minutes per day. The repair shop wanted $220 to fix it so I passed on it and my wife gifted me a new one for Christmas.

So should I daily my new Automatic Seiko 5 or should I daily a battery powered one like Fossil?
