How are the Everton players escaping blame for their deplorable performance
Now I have a soft spot for Lampard, obviously, and I watched a replay of the Everton v. Brighton game. I'm not going to sing the praises of Lampard "tactical genius" but the Everton midfield are the ones to blame for that excrutiating loss. Brightons' first goal, Patterson gets sucked in (he could've challenged the ball imo) Mitoma takes two huge touches and scores.. ok, chop it up to a defensive breakdown, but you're still in the game. Second through fourth goals, the midfield just straight up abandoned their defensive duties and left the backline uber exposed. GANA was SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for 2 of Brightons' goals... 2! Davies is garbage 🗑. Lampard is going to get some blame for sure because clearly things aren't working. But when you have players that are making stupid blunders. It kind of goes beyond tactics and set up, right? These players need to take some responsibility and not straight give up after going 2 down. If Everton were to change managers I don't know if things would change all that much. Its going to be between NFFC and Everton for that 17th spot, unless Wolves can find some goals from somewhere.
