I have seen so many complaints about IG and DA recently.

I just don’t really understand the complains. Especially when it’s coming from people who haven’t even finished IG yet.

Can the multiple POVs be jarring? Sure. But it expands the scope of the story to a point that could not have been reached if it was just from Darrow’s perspective. I had no trouble because a lot of major series (Game of Thrones, Inheritance Cycle, Sanderson’s books, John Gwynn’s books, The Rage of Dragons and it’s sequel) have multiple POVs.

Is it because it’s no longer the vanilla “hero’s journey”?
