Super Mario Odyssey. Good for the younger "fortnite" kids.. ?

I'd like to get my younger sister into some sort of Mario/nintendo game. For yknow childhoods sake. My favorite memories are those nintendo games I played growing up and my fondest memories were SM64 and SMG.

Nows a good as a time ever, her turning 8, she has a switch already and has a desert wasteland of games.

I'm thinking the one game that even made me get up and salute the credits (💀). Mario Odyssey, it'd be great for her, there's even an assist mode.

But I'm worried that she'll play it for a day and forget it exists. As that happened with sonic frontiers (she's apparently a big sonic fan for never playing a sonic game lol) Pokemon shield (she's also apparently a huge pokemon fan for never playing a pokemon game, I guess she likes the cards even though she doesn't even play with them) And the types of games she prefers to spend time on is the typical, Fortnite

Yea I got a fortnite kid for a sister ;(

Well reddit, should I waste my 60 on SMO, or just let her be. I wanna give her a memorable time with a game she would love
