Can I install vinyl plank flooring over textured linoleum?

My current kitchen has linoleum flooring with a texture on it to make it look like a tile pattern. I am thinking of updating the floors and would be comfortable doing vinyl planking myself, but would rather cover the existing floor instead of trying to pull it up. Is this doable with the slight textured pattern underneath, or would something like that snow through over time? Has anyone had experience with this in the past?
