Let's talk about sleep compliance and mornings! Suggested format: Solution based. No walls of text, no ranting. 3 things that WORK for you to go to bed on time, consistently; wake up on time, consistently; and have good mornings that set you up for success the rest of the day! Ready? Go!!!
I'll start, but add if I was doing this successfully I wouldn't be asking for help! I was working out in the morning but lately I've been not sleeping well so my motivation to go to the gym in the morning is like crocodile mud.
- I go to the library and check out books so I can read at night to get my fix instead of being on these screens past 8pm. I am 100% addicted to technology. 2.5 years sober (alcohol) I know what an addiction is and I f*ck these screens!
- Wait an hour before drinking coffee to give adenosine a chance to clear out and prevent crashes later on. Caffeine simply blocks adenosine receptors. When it wears off free built up adenosine in the system comes crashing back to available receptors.
- Go on a walk to "get wake" up sunlight before 10am. Having dogs that need to be walked everyday helps with this. Also gets me off my computer and out into the world.
